Does the course fee include accommodation?

Yes, there is fully furnished student housing on the campus – within walking distance of the church – that is specifically for students enrolled on the programme. We have a limited space of 27 in the house. The place in the house will be confirmed once the acceptance fee has been paid.

As part of the programme, students will endeavour to reach out across South Africa and other neighbouring countries. In the fourth module, we will travel internationally (Namibia/Botswana/Swaziland/Lesotho/Mozambique). Please ensure that your passport is ready when you arrive.

Yes, the course fee includes three daily meals – breakfast, lunch, and supper – from Mondays to Sundays. There is also a personal fridge in each house, should one have the desire to buy additional food or luxuries (we advise the students to mark any personal groceries).

Passport expenses, bedding, clothes, washing basket (for dirty laundry), washing powder, washing pegs, transport to and from the Airport, Gautrain Station, etc., and a lock (for one’s personal locker).

As part of the programme, students will be involved in the following initiatives:

  • Weekly involvement in local community projects

  • Weekend outreaches within South Africa

  • Three-week outreaches across South Africa and neighbouring countries

Yes, Year of Your Life offers time off for students to redo their maths and other subjects required. We do not have our own personal Tutors available but are aware of excellent companies with whom we are able to direct parents for professional tutoring.

Yes, students who complete the programme are awarded 60 credits when entering the Higher Certificate in Christian Life (HCCL) or the Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) courses at the South African Theological Seminary (SATS).
Yes, students are allowed to work while completing the course to help raise funds for tuition.
Yes, students who opt to stay at home only need to pay for tuition and can save on accommodation costs.
Applications for YOYL 2025 are welcome as soon as possible to allow sufficient time for processing and planning for students coming from abroad. Module 1/ Registration Day starts on 1 February 2025.
Yes! You can apply for our “Modular Approach.” YOYL consists of four Modules, and you can sign up to do the different modules. Each student can do as many of the four modules as they desire and head off to university after they have completed their selected modules. Each module’s dates are in the “Cover Letter.”
